At the end of every month, votes are counted, sorted and put into a chest. The chest is handed over to a pig; The pig is thrown into the nether and inevitably turns into a pig zombie. The pig zombie sends the chest back into a nether portal, at which point we receive the final statistics and award the top voter with a donation rank! The winner of this months voting competition is:
Congratulations, and we hope you enjoy your Emerald rank. Also, if you happen to see a flying Tigershark, be sure to congratulate him.
In other news, our very own Imagineer (builder) ReichvargAnkh has put his creative talents to work and built us a selection of parkour challenges, the first of which being a time trial course (speed parkour). I'll be keeping a list of the fastest times, and rewarding the overall fastest time with a prize at the end of the month. If you'd like to check it out, type: /warp parkour
If you're up for a harder challenge that doesn't involve cutting corners, try out Reichvarg's "Jumping puzzle parkour". Reichvarg's build is a combination of great visual design and well thought out mini-puzzles, challenging ones mind while rewarding ones appreciation for art. Type: /warp parkour
For your chance to be featured in next months update, please leave us a message containing your ideas/pictures/videos and we'll get back to you.
Keep on voting! This helps bring in new members to the community, ensuring there's always someone new to talk to.

Congratulations to Cooliertop & Lonewolfe for winning "Mod of the month". You guys have been doing an amazing job.
What server would you like us to develop next? Build, skyblocks, pure survival, hardcore pvp or something else? Leave your comments and opinions below.
If you haven't already been informed, we are now running a Tekkit Lite server. The server IP is tekkit.raremc.com. In order to be able to play, you need to download the launcher: http://www.technicpack.net/download. As previously mentioned, we are also looking into a Faction/PVP or survival based one too.
Now the title seems a bit odd, doesn't it? For the most part, there's only two 'mods' in minecraft: moderators and modifications. Today I'm going to be discussing modifications to the game. Right off the bat, I can tell you any mods that give unfair advantages, whether in pvp or other aspects, are strictly off limits. There are legal, and helpful, mods too.
A great mod to have is one called Optifine. Optifine is an addition to the video settings that run on minecraft. It adds other mods like better grass and clear water. It generally improves performance in the game, and can aid in picking up some fps too. I personally see it as a necessity, just because it does so much to help with how the game looks and feels. You can read up more and download it here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/249637-151-optifine-hd-d1-fps-boost-hd-textures-aa-af-and-much-more/ .
Another great mod is one called Rei's Minimap. It enables you to see a birds eye view of an area surrounding you. It shows everything from buildings to trees to plains with great depth. I like to think of it as a mini-dynmap in a sense. For those of who unfamiliar with dynmap, it is a server plugin that shows the map and all things in it. You can read more and download here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/482147-151-mar21-reis-minimap-v33-04/ .
The last mod I will be spotlighting today is one called damage indicators. This is a mod that is only compatible with servers that have the mod installed as well. Luckily, we happen to have the mod on the Rarecraft main. This mod allows you to look at players or mobs and assess their health and potion effects. In addition to that, it also shows damage done to them. You can read up on it here and download it too: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1536685-151forge-hit-splat-damage-indicators-v262-rpg-ui-and-damage-amount-mod/ .
I'm just wondering. Did I leave out any crucial mods? What are your favorite ones? Let me know in the comment section below. :)
